How California is addressing the housing shortage: CEQA Reform Explained

California legislatures are addressing the housing shortage in California. On June 30th 2025, Governor Gavin Newsom signed Senate Bill 131 and Assembly Bill 130 into law, effective immediately. These laws will streamline or exempt new project categories from CEQA review and reduce litigation risks across the state.
